I picked up a few potential terrarium enclosures from the local Goodwill while shopping for more storage containers.

Recently I’ve mostly just been using aquariums, because I already have so many lying around, but I want something that fits my sun room’s aesthetic a bit better.

I’m thinking I’ll just use some silicone to seal up the bottom of the enclosure, and then maybe add a mix of perlite and sphagnum moss on the bottom to retain moisture.

I have some miniature fern-looking plants (according to Seek they’re common yarrow) in my backyard that I think might do well in here, with some minor adjustments to ensure consistent humidity.

I’ll be posting build steps as I go once I begin actually working on this one. I’m currently waiting on my springtail culture to repopulate a bit more before depleting it by seeding other terrariums.

In the meantime, my native wildflower plantings are beginning to pay off, and little pops of color are appearing around the backyard!

More to come on the terrarium build, and hopefully by this weekend I’ll have plenty of springtails to kick off my pending builds!
